One of the main reasons addicts want to detox is to get away from that lifestyle. Most can't go in a store or turn a trick without being "high". And isn't Rehab about changing your lifestyle and trying to get some normalacy in your life again. Beleive me, it will never be "normal" again but it can be good. And these daily Methadone clinics don't give any rehab and never try to detox you. The average stay of couselors is 4 to 6 months, fresh out college until they can get a real job. They have no clue on how to counsel a street smart drug addict, just make sure they pay their $13.50 per day (if they don't get busted trying to get money, stay away from other addicts so you won't be tempted to spend your money on drugs)have them give you urine once a month to test for other drugs in your system and if there are other drugs in your system threaten them with a 2 week detox off of the 100 mg. of methadone youv'e gotten up to in as short as your first 10 days. These are profit making organizations (my understanding is this one in particular is owned by a couple of Doctors) All they want is money, money, money. Multiply $13.50 by 600 to 900, lets just average it and use 750. That is $283,500 for 4 weeks, appx. a month. That is over 3 million per year for an investment. And you want them to turn a trick or steal to pay them. Pimping in the new millineum.
